Tour Itinerary

On the day of arrival at Cochin airport, our Ramble Advisor representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Relax at the hotel, later proceed for local sightseeing of Cochin, visit Fort Kochi, Marine Drive, St.Francis Church, Dutch Palace, Santa Cruz Basilica, Bolgatty Island, and Indo Portuguese Museum. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 starts with a scenic drive from Cochin to Munnar, with a possible comfort stop and optional spice garden visit. After checking into your hotel in Munnar and enjoying lunch, you can choose to visit the Tea Museum or explore local markets. The afternoon is free to relax, take in the views. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, spend the day in exploring the rolling hills of Misty Munnar dotted with tea plantations. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams- Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range famous for its tea estates, exotic lush greenery and craggy peaks. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. Local sightseeing of Munnar includes visit to Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake and Echo point. Later in the afternoon proceed to Rajamalai (Eravikulam) National Park, were the rarest species of mountain goat, "Nilgiri Thars", can be spotted. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Set out for Thekkady, the gateway to Periyar National Park. En route, experience bamboo rafting at the Periyar River, an exhilarating adventure through the picturesque landscapes. Upon arriving in Thekkady, check-in at the resort. After fresh-n-up, head to Kumily, a small town located about 10 kilometers from Thekkady. Kumily is known for its spice plantations, and you can visit one of these plantations to learn more about the production of spices such as pepper, cardamom, and cinnamon. In the evening, visit the Mullaperiyar Dam, which is located on the Periyar River and provides hydroelectric power to the region. Finish the day with a traditional Kerala dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at the resort in Thekkady.

Start with a thrilling morning boat safari on Periyar Lake, where you might spot majestic elephants, elusive tigers, and a kaleidoscope of birdlife. After the boat ride, delve deeper with a guided nature walk, learning about the park's diverse flora and fauna. In the afternoon, choose to explore the fascinating world of spices at a local plantation (optional). As evening descends in Thekkady, relax and reflect on the unforgettable wildlife encounters and natural beauty you've experienced. Overnight stay at your resort in Thekkady.

After a delightful breakfast, drive to Kumarakom, the enchanting "Town of Backwaters." On arriving in Kumarakom, check in to your resort and unwind. Immerse yourself in Kumarakom's charm this afternoon with a packed itinerary. First, embark on a scenic boat ride on the backwaters, gently gliding past lush greenery and vibrant local life. Keep your eyes peeled for exotic birds soaring overhead as you make your way towards the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Here, explore the diverse birdlife, a haven for resident and migratory species. After this enriching experience, head to Kumarakom Beach, where you can soak up the sun, breathe in the fresh air, or even try your hand at water sports (optional). As the day winds down, explore the unique collection at the Bay Island Driftwood Museum or wander through local markets, picking up souvenirs and experiencing the town's vibrant atmosphere. After a leisurely breakfast at your Kumarakom resort, set sail for Alleppey, renowned for its enchanting houseboat cruises along Kerala's tranquil backwaters. Glide aboard your traditionally decorated houseboat by 1 PM, where a delicious lunch awaits as your backwater adventure commences. As you cruise through this network of canals and lagoons, witness a tapestry of unique sights: majestic Chinese fishing nets, emerald paddy fields bowing towards the water, glimpses of local life crafting coir products, rustic homes nestled amongst swaying coconut groves, and ancient temples standing sentinel. The evening is yours to unwind at your own pace. Explore the vibrant markets of Alappuzha (optional) or simply relax and soak in the serenity of the backwaters. Drift off to sleep on your comfortable houseboat, lulled by the gentle rhythm of the water.

After breakfast at the houseboat, our Ramble Advisor representative will transfer you to the Cochin Airport to board a flight to your home or onward destination.
